What is Reiki?
A Brief Introduction to Energy Healing
What is Reiki? Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing. Energy flows through all of life -- each of us has life force energy flowing throughout us, as do all things in nature. The word "Reiki" is made up of two Japanese words. "Rei" meaning "God's wisdom" or "Divine Wisdom" and "Ki" meaning "life force energy". Together this means, "spiritually guided life force energy".
Reiki energy has been around for many years and was rediscovered by Dr. Mikao Usui of Japan in 1914, and later brought to the west by Mrs. Hawayo Takata of Kauai, HI. Reiki is an amazing alternative healing method now available to many people all over the world. It is used in hospital settings, massage and chiropractic clinics, spas, fitness clubs and naturopathic clinics just to name a few.
